Here is what is happening as of 4/20/01 Hey Ya'll! How is everyone doing? Well, lets get down to what Chris has been up to lately... Well, Chris is still touring like crazy. He definitely is gaining more and more fans as his career goes up the musical ladder. If you have not seen him yet in concert, please do so. Check the tour dates section to see if he is coming to an area near you. Well, as ya'll saw on my main page, there is a page dedicated to Daniel, a boy who loved Chris' music. If you don't know the story, please go and read the story. It will truly touch your heart. I don't think anyone ever thought this story would go anywhere to touch others besides the people on Chris' MB. Well, Daniel's story is getting well-known by DJ's and country music news magazine across the United States. I receive an email everyday with that days country music news. Well, I have received two with articles dealing with "Laredo" the bear. Below are the two articles: CAGLE'S SPECIAL MASCOTT
041901 -- A five-year-old boy named Daniel happened to be one of CHRIS
CAGLE's biggest fans. The youngster from Tulsa was born with a heart defect,
but he loved hearing Chris' album, "Play it Loud." One of Daniel's
neighbors, Sandra, would often babysit Daniel while his mother went on
errands. And when Sandra gave Daniel a teddy bear, he immediately named it
"Laredo," after one of his favorite songs from Chris' album. The
stuffed toy even wore a T-shirt that had the words "Cagle'n On &
On" on the front and "Cagle #1" on the back. One day Daniel
looked at Chris' CD cover and told Sandra that he wanted Chris to have Laredo
because, "He looks like he needs a teddy bear." Unfortunately,
Daniel passed away on March 23rd. So, Sandra shared Daniel's story with other
fans on Chris' website, ChrisCagle.com. The teddy bear found a loving home
Friday when it was presented to Chris just before his show at Billy Bob's in
Ft. Worth, Texas. Chris says, "It really touched my heart to hear this
story. The bear will be on the bus with us from now on."
I never thought this would happen but as Sami has told me, "I think Daniel knew what would happen when he said, 'God has other plans for me.'" I don't know about you, but this story gives me goosebumps every time even if I am not reading it. If you are going to be at concerts starting at the Lima show, there will be a group picture taken with Chris and fans from the MB - and this will continue for quite some time at every concert. All these pictures will be developed and given to Sami to give to Daniel's mom along with a scrapbook Sami is making for her of all the messages from everyone on the message board supporting her. Onto another subject, Molly is working diligently on the fan club packets as well as meet & greets. They are still working on those and awaiting the materials to arrive so they can put them together and get them out to all of you fan club members. So keep being patient ya'll and hopefully those will be out to ya'll before Fan Fair, if not then. Keep requesting Chris on GAC, CMT, and on the radio! "Laredo" keeps going up and up! Keep up the great work ya'll! Here is where Chris stands on the charts: Billboard - #30

Clay Davidson |
No announcements were forthcoming about the fate of the company's roster of artists, which includes Chris Cagle, Clay Davidson, River Road and comedians Tom Mabe and Roy D. Mercer. One Music Row source indicates that Cagle, Davidson and Mercer will move to Capitol Nashville, though a spokeswoman in the company's New York office would not confirm those plans.
News of Virgin's shuttering came "out of the blue" for most of the 16 employees who will lose their jobs in the next two weeks. A source called the move "a bottom line decision" prompted by the fact that country's recent downturn has made it impractical for EMI to maintain two separate labels in Nashville.
A producer, whose credits include albums by Faith Hill, Brooks & Dunn and Alan Jackson among others, Hendricks has made successful A&R decisions at both Capitol and Virgin. Of eight artists registering in Billboard's country Top 15 for the first time in 2000, three -- Cagle, Davidson and Capitol's Keith Urban -- were signed originally by Hendricks.
Chart position did not translate into sales, however. Cagle's debut album, Play it Loud, has sold 32,000 copies, according to figures provided by SoundScan, and his hit single "My Love Goes On and On," has sold 23,000 copies. The title cut of Davidson's debut album, Unconditional, which went to No. 3 on the Billboard country singles chart, sold 60,000 copies. The album sold 85,000 copies.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I talked to Chris' step-mom and she told me this and said I could quote her on this:
"Scott Hendricks, as you probably know, is head of Virgin,
formerly head of
Capitol, and I think the article in country.com alluded to the fact that he
and Garth had a very public power struggle with Garth ending up naming his
choice for head of Virgin. But both labels are owned by EMI. Chris
and
Clay Davidson will move to Capitol with the staff at Virgin staying intact
until at least February 9th to make the transition of them smooth. The
staff at Virgin are very, very much behind Chris and Clay, and want to make it
absolutely as good as possible."
I thought I would share that with ya'll! Please keep Chris in your prayers as he is still having to work everything out with is manager and everyone else who works with him on his career.
Chris was going to film his music video for "Laredo" at the beginning of next week, but personally I am not sure if they are still planning to film it. I would not doubt if the put it off for a couple of weeks just so they can get everything else settled. Most of the employees are supporting Chris 100% and most should be moved over to Capitol. Nothing has been made totally clear yet but as soon as I get information from people I know, it will be on here.
I am not sure as to where Chris will be signing now because of Virgin closing its doors but I do know for sure he will be there and will be signing. If anything changes, it will be on here as well.
This is really all the breaking news I have at this time, but please keep Chris in your prayers. I know he took the news hard and will be trying to figure everything out with his manager. I know God has bigger and better things in store for Chris even though it is hard to see through the mist of the storm. Keep supporting Chris 150% and God will show the way.
Well, everyone have a great week and God Bless. Take care and always remember to Play It Loud!!!
Here is what happening as of 1/17/01!
Well, Chris is one of 10 new artists that had a Top 15 hit in 2000! Awesome huh? He deserved it and even more. (But I think "My Love Goes On And On" should of gone #1) Chris will be releasing "Laredo" as his second single and the video for "Laredo" will be done sometime in February. So keep a look out for is new video to be out!
Keep requesting Chris on CMT-he is on the countdown but the past two weeks he stayed at number 9. Keep those requests going and lets get him to #1!
Be sure to Email the the fan club your email and birth-date if you have already sent in your money to become a fan club member. They are having a slight delay in getting the packets out so be sure to email the fan club those two things at fanclub@chriscagle.com
Chris will be at Fan Fair 2001 and will be signing at various booths such as Virgin Records booth. Times and days for where he will be signing probably won't be released until one or two weeks before and maybe not until the day before Fan Fair starts. Be sure to check out www.fanfair.com for any questions you might or for new artists added to the list to attend.
Also, anyone who would like to see their pictures of Chris in concert on this site, please email them to me with the date, the place it was taken, and you name so I can give you credit. Also if you have any pictures of you with Chris and would like them on here, please so the same and email them to me with the date, the place, and your name. If you would like to also include a story or tell everyone how the concert went, you may do that as well.
Well, that is all for now. Take care everyone and always remember to Play It Loud!!!!
Here is what is happening as of 1/2/01!
Well, My Love Goes On And On starting to go down in the charts. On Billboard he is out of the top 20 but mad it as a Top 15 hit single which is awesome. I have no clue where Chris is on R&R because their website isn't work so if anyone knows, email me. Roughstock-Chris is #15 the last I checked. Please request Chris as much as you can by going to www.roughstock.com As soon as the other charts change I will let you know how Chris is doing.
My Love Goes On And On music video keep going and going and going! :) He is #10 after staying 12 for two weeks and 11 for two weeks. Keep requesting him as much as you can on request line. To give you a little hint about voting on request line, you can vote every 20 minutes. So request Chris like crazy!
Also, there are plans for a music video for Chris' next single-Laredo. It was suppose to be Country By The Grace of God and the video plans were all planned out but they found out about Laredo being #75 on the charts decided to rethink the next single. So I am not sure if they will be doing a music video but when I find out, I will let you know. I do know that if their is a video it will shot somewhere around February. So keep a watch out for a new music video.
They are planning to put pictures on Chris' website. They are going to put pictures of Chris, Chris in concert, Chris with the fans, etc. So I will let you know about how to get your picture on there.
Well, that is all the news I have for now. Every time you hear Chris' song, always remember to PLAY IT LOUD!! Chris Rocks!
As of 12/08/200 Here is what's new with Chris!
Chris keep going and going and going...well, you know what I mean. He keeps going up and terrin' through the charts! for a while I wasn't sure if "My Love Goes On And On" would go #1 because it was going down on a few chart, but you the fans changed that! Here are the new details on charts:
As I was saying, everyone keep supporting Chris and call into your local radio station to hear Chris. If you are not hearing Chris, be sure to call and ask them to play it. And a little hint-talk to the person who is in charge of making the play-list and tell him you want to hear Chris. That way your opinion is told to the person who does the list.
Chris said something that really made me think at the Wild Horse concert. He said (and these words are not exact, but hopefully I will get the exact words and put the quote on here) that the reason he is going anywhere with his career as a singer is because of each and every one of you who are supporting him by requesting his song on the radio and on T.V., buying his CD and single CDs and cassettes. He wouldn't be anywhere without you. So I encourage you to really think about that.
And always remember to PLAY IT LOUD!
Ya'll, Chris was Awesome at the Wild Horse Saloon in Nashville, TN! I don't know how many of you have seen Chris in concert, but if you have you know what I am talking about. He Rocked the house and the whole foundation. He blew the roof off and had everyone shouting the words to every one of the songs. There wasn't a soul in that building that wasn't moving along with the music and moving to the beat of the music. I am telling you if you haven't seen Chris in concert, go see him. I know that you will not be disappointed. There is no way you can be because the whole time your beating your foot to the music and moving your body along with it. You won't even have time time to think, "Was this worth the money I spent to come tonight?" You will be able to ask yourself that question after you walk out the door, but will you even have to ask yourself that question? I mean this is all my opinion but I truly believe this is what is going to happen because I was having to much fun singing along, getting into the music, and taking pictures to even think of that question. If anyone has been to his concert and thought the same thing be sure to email me and tell me what you thought.
